One possible effect...

Effect: The performer produces a plain coin envelope and asks a group of spectators if anyone has a $1.00 bill. He or she then asks the spectator to fold the bill with the president’s face inside and then fold in half again on the horizontal axis. Following this the performer requests that the spectator place the bill in the envelope. The spectator then peels off the security seal and closes the envelope. The spectator is then requested to hand the envelope to another spectator. Later on the performer asks the spectator that is holding the envelope to tear along the dashed line and remove the bill. The spectator is asked to look at the serial number but not to reveal anything until the performer asks for confirmation. Without looking or ever touching the envelope the performer discerns the number perfectly.
